Message from the Chapter President

Hello Greater Richmond Chapter Members,

I truly believe that 2025–2026 will be a great year for our members. Why do I say this? Because I’m the President! (Chuckle, please.)

All joking aside, it’s because we are doing exactly what we set out to do. Specifically, we are committed to:

  • Offering reasonably priced training to help satisfy your annual CPE requirements. Our programs include time for food and conversation and are offered both in person and virtually.
  • Including a service project in every training session we host. Recent beneficiaries include Children’s Hospital of Greater Richmond, Feed More, and others.
  • Expanding our membership outreach to professionals and students from universities throughout the Greater Richmond area.
  • Introducing the Citizen-Centric Reporting concept to local and state governmental units in the Greater Richmond region.
  • Providing a quarterly newsletter to every member to enhance communication and engagement.

In the years following the pandemic, many nonprofit organizations have focused on growing and sustaining their membership—and we are no exception. Did you know that approximately 85% of AGA members joined at the suggestion of another member? We therefore encourage you to refer friends, coworkers, supervisors, and colleagues to join or get involved with AGA. When your referral signs up as a new member, they can include your name in the referral field so you can be recognized.

I’ve intentionally kept this message brief, hoping you might at least scan it. If you would like to discuss any of these items further, email works best for me – just click my name below.

Have a great year, y’all—and thank you.

John Hummel
President, Greater Richmond Chapter
